Welcome

Welcome!

I'm Alex Lubbock, a Senior Research Software Engineer at The Rosalind Franklin Institute. This is my personal site - any opinions expressed are mine alone.

My work centres on software engineering development and operations (DevOps) within the life sciences. My main expertise is in research software and algorithm development, computational modelling, and machine learning. I was previously a Research Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt University in the Department of Biochemistry, where my research was in the area of computational systems biology. I have created and/or contributed to several open source projects, including Thunor for analysing high-throughput cell proliferation drug screens and PySB for computational modelling of cell signalling. For more of my projects, see my GitHub and publications list.

I write about several topics here from my work and side projects, including computational biology, microelectronics, and fixing IT/sysadmin issues that I've come across.
